These courses are graduate-level and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). These non-campus courses may be taken any place and any time. Independent Study Courses have been described as correspondence courses, self-directed independent learning courses, and distance learning courses.
How are the Independent Study Courses conducted?
Students study on their own time, at their own pace, and complete the easy to understand instructions, requirements and assignments contained in the Instructor issued course materials soon after course registration has been processed.

Enrollment is possible at anytime of the year in Independent Study Courses offered through Fresno Pacific University in conjunction with partnership affiliate Courses4Educators.com. Students complete the Online Registration process at https://ce.fresno.edu/workshops ONLY if you are unable to complete online registration process, click “registration form” and print the Registration Form. Mail the completed form with a tuition payment of $450 for each three-unit graduate-level semester course is required. If you must pay tuition by check, make check payable to Fresno Pacific University and mail to the address at the bottom of the registration form.
What is the minimum, maximum, and suggested time allowed for course completion?
A minimum of one week per unit of study has been set as a standard for all Independent Study Courses with credits being issued through Fresno Pacific University. Accordingly, the minimum time allowed for completing a three-unit independent study course is three weeks. Typically, students complete three-unit Independent Study Courses in the suggested time frame period of six to nine weeks. The course start date is the date of the processed registration form for the course of enrollment. The course ending date or maximum time period allowed for course completion is one year from the date of registration processing for the course of enrollment.

The Independent Study course tuition amount is $450 for three credit courses. Acceptable forms of tuition payment to Fresno Pacific University are; Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. Students complete the Online Registration process at https://ce.fresno.edu/workshops ONLY if you are unable to complete online registration process, click “registration form” and print the Registration Form. Mail the completed form with a tuition payment of $450 for each three-unit graduate-level semester course is required. If you must pay tuition by check, make check payable to Fresno Pacific University and mail to the address at the bottom of the registration form.
When and how will a student receive the course materials?
Upon receipt and processing of his or her the registration for an Independent Study course, the student will timely receive the course materials sent by US Priority Mail Service to the student’s mailing address as listed on the registration form. A student should allow up to ten or more business days from the date of registration mailing prior to contacting Courses4Educators personnel for assistance in not receiving materials.
What should an enrolled student expect to see when the course materials arrive?
The student will see an organized learning packet of information and materials with easy to read and follow instructions for course completion. The course materials consist of the Course Syllabus and the assignments that contain information, requirements, and coursework needed for course completion.
What about grades, credits, and transcripts?
A student successfully meeting course requirements will earn a letter grade of A or B. Those students falling below the grade of B will receive a grade of NC (non credit). A letter grade of NC (no credit) does not qualify for any course credit. Official transcripts records of grade and credit are available for issuance upon request from the Office of the Registrar at Fresno Pacific University.
